Bread Pudding with Apples and Raisins

This is a simple apple and raising bread pudding recipe.  Serve with a nice cold vanilla ice cream for a simple yet decadent dessert.

  • 5 cups bread dried / cubed
  • 1 cups raisins scalded
  • 2 cups apple diced
  • 6 large eggs beaten
  • 6 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 cups white sugar divided
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon divided
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Spread bread cubes over bottom of large casserole dish.

  3. Top bread cubes with diced apples and scalded raisins.

  4. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla,1 cup of sugar,  and 2 tsp cinnamon. Pour over bread and fruit mixture.

  5. Combine the remaining cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle over the top of the mixture. Bake in 350º oven for 1 hour.

  6. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
