Good Ole Everyday Tea Biscuits

This is simple and quick tea biscuit recipe.  It is nothing fancy, but they go well with a number of the comfort food recipes on this site.

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Cooking Oil
  • 3/4 cup milk
  1. Preheat oven to 425º F. Mix all dry ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl. Make a hollow crater in the centre.
  2. pour milk and oil into the centre of dry ingredients. Fold all ingredients together creating a rollable dough.
  3. Roll out dough until approximately ½" thick. Using a drinking glass or dough cutter, cut out 6 biscuits. Place on cookie sheet.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 22 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Recipe Notes
  1. Add ½ cup of shredded old cheddar and an egg for fluffy cheese tea biscuits.
