English Breakfast Hot Toddy

This is a variation on the famous cold and cough cocktail, the Hot Toddy.  In this variation we will change our alcohol to Crown Royal Rye Whiskey, and our hot liquid will be loose leaf English Breakfast (High Grown) Black Tea from Teavana in West Edmonton Mall.

This is a nice relaxing and refreshing drink when feeling under the weather.  The honey actually kills bacteria, while the lemon soothes sore throats and works on coughs.  The alcohol just makes everything better.

  • 1 oz rye whiskey Crown Royal™
  • 1 tbsp honey creamed or liquid
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice fresh squeezed is best
  • 8 oz English Breakfast Tea Loose Leaf, fresh brewed
  1. Brew tea in a tea press
  2. Place other ingredients in a large coffee mug
  3. Pour in steeped tea and stir until honey is completely dissolved
  4. Serve hot

Feel free to tweak this recipe to suit your tastes. Crown Royal can be  replaced with any run, whiskey, bourbon or brandy.
